:D Robert Wheeler and Sarah Mullet 2 Oct 1836 (Was Robert in the mayoral family Wheeler)..

After digging around the marriage of Sarah Wheeler (Widow) and Joseph Carr at St Martin in the Field, London. It's possibly because she was baptized there.

Also bapt 22 May 1817 at same place is Esther Slaughter, wife of Robert jr Wheeler (mayor).

A Sarah Mullett, bapt 17th June 1816 St Martin in the field to William Henry and Sarah Mullett (a pastry cook).
Parents William Henry Mullett and Sarah Kitchen married same place 1814.

A link to a John Turner is there was one as Mayor in 1841 /1851 / 1867 High Wycombe.

I think the Sarah Mullett baptised in High Wycombe 29 Jun 1817 d/o Amelia Mayne Mullett (no father mentioned on baptism) is more likely.

Carr household.. 1851
The children are 3x Wheeler mmn Mullett ages 13,11,8yrs..
and 2x Carr mmn Easdon. 12 and 9yrs..

The three WHEELER children are Sarah's from her first marriage to Robert WHEELER.  They were baptised at Holy Trinity Church High Wycombe as follows:

13 Aug 1837  Harriet dau of Robert and Sarah WHEELER
13 Oct 1839  Henry son of Robert and Sarah WHEELER
17 Jul 1842  Elizabeth dau of Robert and Sarah WHEELER

The two CARR children are Joseph CARR's children from his first marriage to Ann CANNON.  GRO entries as follows:

Qtr4 1838 Wycombe Union Vol 6 Page 366 - William CARR (mother's maiden name CANNON)
Qtr3 1841 Wycombe Union Vol 6 Page 397 - Ann CARR (mother's maiden name ED.... )

I think the maiden name given in Ann's birth entry is an error.  Her baptism is recorded in High Wycombe Wesleyan Methodist Circuit:

26 Aug 1841 Ann dau of Joseph and Ann CARR of High Wycombe, aged 4 weeks

I have not found a baptism for William CARR.  There is one other birth entry in the GRO Index:

Qtr4 1843 Wycombe Union Vol 6 Page 422 - Joseph CARR (mother's maiden name CANNON)

This child died the following year and his burial is recorded at Holy Trinity Church High Wycombe:
10 Oct 1844 Joseph CARR aged 1 year

Thank you very much Orpheus for all that information, it truly does help :)

How does the mmn Easden go with Carr, if his wife was a Cannon.

Thank you again Orpheus for your time.

Lesanne

ps. Are you following the Quartermaines of Rycot by chance?

There are no children with a mother's maiden name of EASDEN belonging to Joseph CARR.  There are, however, a number of CARR children with a mother's maiden name of EASDEN in the GRO Birth Index and I believe that these belong to George CARR, bachelor, and Eliza HESDIN, spinster, who married at Great Marlow on 26 Sep 1836.  The marriage was witnessed by Thomas GRAY and Elizabeth CARR.  Although Eliza's name is recorded as HESDIN in her marriage entry it is recorded as EASDEN when she and George CARR witnessed the marriage of Richard FORTNOR and Rebecca CARR.

My QUARTERMAINs are from Garsington, Oxfordshire and I can trace them back to around 1640.  I suspect that the family were originally from Chalgrove but have not found a link (yet!).

The Rycote QUARTERMAYNs (Richard and Sybyl) did not have any children so that branch died out.
