St Paul, Whitley Bay -When were majority of memorials cleared?

I am making this query on behalf of someone else who lives in a different area to me.
This person has some ancestors who were buried in the Churchyard of St Paul, Whitley Bay in the early 1900s.
When all is well I am willing to take some photos for her and add these to Find A Grave if the memorials still exist.
I know there is a volume of memorials for this Churchyard at Newcastle local studies (which is now closed) and I remember in this it is written that most of the memorials were cleared.  I can't remember if the volume relates what year this was carried out. Apparently, some were used as paving stones at Brierdene and some were sunk in Marden quarry.

I know this is a longshot but we would like to know what year these memorials were cleared.  Was this before or after 1900?  This would help us know what chance there will be of her ancestors' memorials still being in existence.

According to this North Tyneside parish records leaflet the churchyard was cleared in 1950, although it implies that some stones survived.

Thanks for the reply Jen, however I can't see anything on this link about the clearance in 1950.  I can see only baptisms and marriages for St Paul mentioned.

Oh well that is a bit of a relief - I thought the cold weather had addled my brain and wasn't letting me see something that you could see.  . Many thanks for trying to help though Jen.

One of the church wardens maintains that no headstones have been removed but that some were re-sited elsewhere in the churchyard to make way for a Parish Hall. Perhaps this was a second removal of headstones!

Does anyone know when said parish hall was built?

I wonder if there was a second removal of memorial stones.
It is quite bizarre as I have definitely come across a memorial inscriptions book at Newcastle local studies which records that some stones were removed to Brierdene for paving stones and some to Marden quarry.

I remember being quite shocked to read this.
I have been to Brierdene in the past and have come across no grave stones so perhaps if these are paving stones these are face down somewhere or now overgrown with grass.

I can see from a free search that the foundation stone for the parish hall at St Paul, Whitley Bay was laid on Saturday, 20 June 1914.
According to the Newcastle Journal dated Monday, 22 June 1914.

And there is a slightly fuller article in the Shields Daily News of the same date.

Neither article mentions the removal or re-siting of stones, though.
