I am looking for information about my great great grandmother. I was able to find her obituary in a San Francisco newspaper providing me with the following:

Mary Ann Flanagan
1842–1884
BIRTH 18 NOV 1842 • Sixmilebridge, Clare, Ireland
DEATH 31 JUL 1884 • San Francisco, San Francisco, California, USA
She married Luke Manning, but I don't know where or when.
Luke Manning
1840–1864
BIRTH ABT 1840 • Ireland
I am hoping to find anything else about her. Thank you in advance.

Thank you so much for your help. It is much appreciated. I will check the sources that you have mentioned. I am hoping to be able to visit Ireland and would love to know more about my family before we go.
I hope this message reaches you. I have had trouble trying to reply through this site.
Thank you again,
Patty

What information do you have about the date she emigrated to the US?

Did Luke Manning accompany her?

Do you have the names of their children please as this can often give a clue as to the names of thier parents if they follow traditional Irish naming patterns.

I guess she got a reply through a message and couldn't reply back as she only had one post at the time.

I think the connection to the church parish of Sixmilebridge was that Luke was the one baptized there on 27 Apr 1837. Even though the death record states that he was 24 years old, it does mention a brother named James. James was baptized to the same parents on 19 Jan 1835.

The likely baptism for Mary was on 1 Dec 1842 in the church just north of Sixmilebridge.

The father is listed as James and that was the name of Mary's second son.
