What about the Flying Corps or the early RAF, did they not wear blue ?
The jacket buttons look unusually large and metallic ... could they help to eliminate other uniforms?

I think British flying corp uniform from WW! was also a khaki colour.
Some flapped over at the front to keep out the wind. Buttons on the were smaller or covered on the second type.
