Looks like it might be the Brownstown in the Kilcullen area as when Catherine HYLAND died in 1872 in Brownstown her death was registered in the district of Kilcullen. The same with Richard CONLAN in 1881.

Owen Conlan son or Richard and Ann Jane Hyland, his birth is also registered in Kilcullen district but his birth is mentioned in the Carlow Morning Post newspaper his address is given as Brownstown Curragh Camp, so I think this Brownstown just came under the Killcullen registrar's district.
