Ancestry DNA Matches layout change - now rubbish
« on: Thursday 17 December 20 10:38 GMT (UK) »
I see the user list layout of DNA matches has changed on Ancestry the last few days.

Each user is now in a big clunky box. You can now only fit around four user matches in an entire screen. Previously you could have around two dozen.

Also the custom group circle colours for users are now overlaid so less clear visual detail.

Completely unnecessary backwords change.

The same info now contained in a far bigger box, thus can't easily compare large numbers of users on one page, and group circle colours now obscured.

They really need to stop playing around with cosmetic nonsense like this and reducing the user experience.

Could you explain what you mean by 'user list'?   Is it a list of shared matches, Thrulines or  ???

Nothing seems to have changed on my listings and the colours look exactly the same.

The main DNA match list when you click "View All DNA Matches" green button on the DNA front page.

It's also under the Shared Matches link of the Trees | Ethnicity | Shared Matches section on individual's DNA match page.

Perhaps has not rolled out yet to all users.

It's exactly the same for me.

I don't see why they would change it to your description. They do do strange things.

I agree, Gizmo303, certainly not a change for the better.

I tried it with different browser just in case and I still get this new layout.

I also get one new piece of data not there before showing %

3rd – 4th Cousin
1% shared DNA | 70 cM

3rd – 4th Cousin
< 1% shared DNA | 69 cM

I don't think that info is too important. Not enough to change the layout anyway.
