YMCA building 101, Waterloo Roa Blyth Northumberland

An article in the Blyth News 22 December 1938 regarding an auction.

"Taylor" was Mr. W. Taylor.  On 24th December 1938 he was to auction his "Valuable poultry, capital houses and appliances". Catalogues were available from 101 Waterloo Road, Blyth.

The building is on the corner of Waterloo and Wolsley roads. I lived in a flat just a couple of blocks down Wolsley road in the early 50s.
Later it became the office for births mariages and deaths  - I went there to register my Mum's death in 2002. As far as I can remember.
Sorry, no idea about the intervening years though.

The door to the building was in Wolsey Road, It was a YMCA in the 50's, and I used to pay my fathers union dues upstairs on a Monday night.  He was in the Electrician Union.  If you are on FB there is a chap called Gordon Smith lives in Blyth will know everything you need to know about that building.  He is a member of the Blyth History Group.
