After committing suicide, by cutting his throat, Charles John Upcott was buried in Cullompton Cemetery on Saturday 23rd April 1898, after a service in the chapel there.

There is an Upcott  family vault inscribed "Upcott family of Raddon"  inside  the church at Thorverton dated late 1800s . I moved to Thorverton about a year ago and was looking at the vaults inside  recently . Raddon is a hamlet close to Thorverton  and also a few miles from  Cullompton
