Hello,
Charles COTTON was born in Fenton c1838, the son of Joshua COTTON and his wife Hannah (nee BARTLEM)........he had 4 brothers /1 sister, Thomas, William, Samuel, Susannah and Elijah.
Other than he was imprisoned for 4 years from 17/10/1853, and apparently did not re-offend, I have not been able to uncover any further validatable information. For instance, did he possibly emigrate to Canada or join the Royal Navy
Any suggestions welcome. Thank you.

Good Evening,
Thank you all for your inputs. I am very grateful.
The 1871 Census reference is certainly the most important with the "Susannah" link to father "Joshua" and offers another avenue to explore.
For the moment,
