Looking for help please on Birth Certificate details. If a 1915 birth record gives the child's 'date and place of birth' as the parent's address in Belfast, does that mean the birth actually took place at that address. Could the birth actually have taken place at a different location in N. Ireland e.g. at the grandparent's address and simply been registered at the home address in Belfast?

If a 1915 birth record gives the child's 'date and place of birth' as the parent's address in Belfast, does that mean the birth actually took place at that address.

The place of birth should be the actual place of birth.  Births had to be registered in the district that they took place.

The date and actual place of birth should be in column 1. If the family's usual residence if different (or father living away from home) that address should be noted under father's details. Could you give us link to the registration or child's name so that we can double check.

It means that is where the informant said the child was born.
