There is a book by a Holyport resident called 'Beyond the Village Green' - her name was Mabel Coppins. The Heritage Centre may well have a copy of it - Maidenhead Library certainly does, but it is closed at the moment. It might have something in it since she wrote about her own personal experiences and memories of Holyport.
I do know that there were American airman in the area during the war but I can't find where they were billetted.
