Richard Finch was the brother of my grandmother Mary Gertrude Craven (nee Finch). He was a major in the First World War - a vet looking after the cavalry horses. He moved into Westwood House Clayton Green with his wife, Agnes (nee Kevill) when my grandmother moved out following the death of her husband, Charles Benedict Craven. They (Charles and Mary) had six children, my father Benedict Joseph Craven was born in 1909 and was second youngest.
Richard Finch and Aggie Kevill had no children, so the house fell into disrepair in the 1970's and was sold to Chorley Council who demolished the house and redeveloped the whole site. Mary Gertrude and Richard Finch were born at Lane End House, Mawdesley which has been in the Finch family since the 1500's and still is. Any photos would be lovely to see.
So sad!
