Oh thank you very much for this Boo.  That '85' age might mislead someone.  I suppose it is easily done to mistakenly see a 3 as an 8.

Just an update - thanks so much for the help today.  I have now been able to add this info to his 'biography' for any descendants who may chance along to see it one day.  Much appreciated! :)

That is a great idea Radcliff!  I hope someone can.  Unfortunately, I have no sub.  I only have free tree up and can only message some of my DNA matches.

I think it would be good for this person to know that there is a memorial and a bit more of his story.  They may not know this so might appreciate being told.  Thanks for checking out that there is a relevant tree.  :)

That is very kind Radcliff that you have tried.  Perhaps they might see a message one day from someone or perhaps they too have passed on and it is too late.  Perhaps that is why your message can't get through.

I think this memorial and info will be of interest to someone one day so I don't think this is at all in vain.  Thank you for trying to let them know.  :)

Do you think it is possible that he died on "Enero" the ship, rather than in Enero (January)

The newspaper report of his sudden death was dated 5th January 1900, so I think RTL is correct that Enero was the name of his ship ( as per newspaper) and also his month of death

Happy to try but the tree is not coming up on a search for me  ???

We will likely never know but surely something must have happened beforehand to trigger a sudden rupture in one still quite young!

I immediately thought of an aortic aneurysm.

My uncle died at the age of 31 of an a. a. and the death certificate said that it was associated with hypertension and kidney disease.
