I thought I'd post 2 examples of 2 RDs (Registration Districts) in the County of Lanark for people to see.

I have included the headings which make it easier to understand...

1st is RD Barony in County of Lanark
2nd is RD Lanark in County of Lanark

Oh, I agree entirely, and especially about the (usually mis)calculated year of birth in transcriptions, and to be fair it's not only on Ancestry - FindMyPast does it, and so did FreeCEN v2 when I last looked at it. (I use FreeCEN v1 for that very reason.)
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Try Berwick on Tweed, Berwickshire which obviously doesn't exist.  Thanks for the help guys.  Newspaper report great thank you

I'm a bit late for the party but Catherine Halling's daughter Jessie in Australia was my great-grandmother. I should be able to help you locate Hallings Land. It was situated in a part of Garscube Road which was later called Main Street and is now known as Maryhill Road. The Mr. McLachlan mentioned in the advertisement for the sale of the house was her brother-in-law Peter McLachlan and was the one who reported her death. But why are you looking for this - are you also a descendent? Can we compare notes?
