St Monicas, North Bondgate, Bishop Auckland

St Monicas was a home for unmarried mothers and their babies, there is a car park now where the home once stood, I was wondering if anyone might have a photo or post card of North Bondgate before the home and other buildings were demolished.

If you have access to Facebook, there is a group called The History of Bishop Auckland
I did a search on that page for St Monica'sand there was a discussion about  St Monica's a couple of years ago. Apparently it was at No 60, a white building next to the Chapel and is shown on a photo which was posted.

If you don't have access to Facebook, then I could ask in the group if they will allow me to download the photo and post it in here.
I don't suppose they'd mind but I'd rather ask them first.

Thanks Boo, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, old photo's and postcards of this part of Bishop Auckland are not easy to come by, apart from the car park! any information, photographs, would be greatly appreciated.

Just to add to this thread. Walter now has the photo he wanted.

I have also told him I found this on the National Archives site and am adding it in here in case someone else is searching for this Home.

That says that registers 1924-1946 are held privately, not available at NA. Doesn't say who the record holders are but if you follow through the link it gives an email address to send an enquiry to the relevant dept at NA (Archives Sector Development) who I assume will tell you if its possible to ask for the details of the records.
Given the normal 100 year closure for 'sensitive' info that may not yet be possible I suppose, but if anyone does enquire and get the terms it would be helpful to add it to this thread (if allowed to by the NA, I assume that should be clarified with them before posting in public?)
