Is there any way I can find out why my UK ancestor was deported from New York, USA, in 1938 and in 1947?

Would he have been deported because he:
1) had lied on his 1909 US Citizenship application (false date of birth etc?)
2) had deserted the US Army (joined 1910 under false pretenses?)
3) had bigamously married a US citizen in 1926?

There are a few photographs, and several names I'm interested in, but unfortunately not enough information (dates etc) for me to draw any conculsions.

I would really appreciate any help.

Is this him in 1909-1910 in the military?

This record has him as seaman from Dublin, Ireland

Thank you all - Yes, I have all of the above and more.  He was telling lies in some documents

I thought I had everything but then....I found his bigamous US marriage in 1926 New York, which even confirms his parentage, as well as his 1909 renouncing of British Citizenship, and his 1910 US Army record.  And he wasn't born in Dublin, but his younger brother was. 

He's a sailor (RN and Merchant Navy), so I guess Margaret Ryan is his girl in this port!

I was wondering if the bigamous marriage was the cause of his deportation ?

Do you know if the bigamy was prosecuted?  If not, I doubt the immigration people would have noticed.  Have you seen the actual image of the marriage record?  Sometimes, they mention a divorce if there was one.

If the false date of birth was something like it being off by a year or a month, that sort of thing was pretty common back then.

In 1909 New York, Hubert/Henry Flowers b1888 renounced his British citizenship, applyin gfor US citizenship and by 1910 appears on the US Army census.    He uses various name - Henry Hubert, Hubert Herny, Henry H, Harry H etc thru his life, but I am 100% positive this is "my" man!

He married in 1906 New York to Margaret Ryan.  He was deported in August 1938 from NY back to the UK, and again in 1947....on both occasions, returning to his famiy.

I'm wondering if the tree on Rootsweb are from his and Margaret's marriage.
