familysearch.org have this film of Fiji deaths, which is locked, and you can't look at it at home even if you have an account. However, it is searchable at one of their libraries.
I'm not sure where in the world you are, but in some countries the libraries are open again (eg in New Zealand).

There is quite a lot of information on this transcription you have (from familysearch) - I don't know how much extra information you're expecting from the actual image.
Having said that, it is always a good idea to look at the original of any record if possible.

It might be worth asking if you can obtain a copy of the death certificate
https://www.justice.gov.fj/births-death-marriages/

I don’t recall any members of rootschat being resident in Fiji, but I may be wrong. You could have a long wait for anyone on the ground to be able to assist, so contacting the above might be a good first port of call.

Good luck.

Are you saying that I can access images of files on Familysearch by visiting specific libraries in New Zealand?

I do live close to a fantastic library in Auckland that has a history department.

Thanks for your help

Yes.
You need to find a Church of The Latter Day Saints that has a research centre.
Whereabouts in Auckland do you live?  Perhaps I can help.
You will be able to access the film there and look for the image you want.
It's also possible you might be able to able to look at it at Auckland Central library in the city- but I'm not sure.

If you go to the familysearch website, and click on 'search' in the menu bars, you will see  you can search the 'catalog'. Go to this, and click on search by 'place'. Put in 'Fiji' and it will bring up all the films etc thy have for there. Under 'church records' are all the baptism, marriage and burial films.

You’re  lucky!
The Fiji films ARE viewable via the Auckland libraries.
(I’ve come across this before where you could view locked films without going to an LDS library, but wasn’t sure this one would be viewable).

The deaths for 1951 are under ‘Civil Registration’ - I think I said Church Records before. I look at many very old parish  registers like this, but of course 1951 would be after Civil Registration.

You’re also lucky in that the death registration does indeed give quite  lot more information than the transcription you found.
I’ll send you a PM here on Rootschat, then you can reply give me your email address, and I can send you the image of the death registration.
It is against Rootschat policy to give personal  email addresses on these ordinary posts.
