Divorce, UK, 1930s

Hi, a couple of questions. Does anyone know how long it took to obtain a divorce in the 1930s please?
The other question, is where can I look for a record to see if someone was divorced? I  have looked on Ancestry and even though it says Marriage and Divorce for the section of results, they are all for marriages.

Thanks for those replies. I have searched there but the name does not come up. I am suspecting that if someone left a wife in one year and married again the next, that it would not have been long enough for a divorce to go through in those days? If anyone has any ideas on that please let me know.

Have you checked newspapers as they often mentioned them.  If the divorce was not 'complicated' then I doubt that there would be any reason for a delay.

I think "quickie divorces" are a relatively modern thing; not around in 1930s.

Have you seen his new marriage certificate, does that mention divorce.  Do you want to give us a name / area in case we can see anything

Thanks! I have checked the British Newspaper Archives that's all.

I don't think quickie divorces were possible then either.

For the benefit of others I do have the name being researched and have sent a reply to shadow9 to try and establish some facts.  As family still living I will not post information on here.
