If they were prefabs, it sounds as if they were erected after the war to house people. There were a lot around that area.

Okay, someone told me Alder Way was prefabs between Reynolds Close and Culvers Avenue (both on Google maps). The old map sent as a link only shows Culvers Avenue but this one shows Reynolds Close. It seems to be just underneath the fork in the river.

The Durand close estate was built over the top of the site of these prefabs, typical 1960's estate.
