Thank you for your replies. William (b 1796) was married in Lymm 1821 to Betty Jackson (daughter of Thomas Jackson and Betty Brazendale). His marriage entry shows he was living in that parish when married. His wife Betty (Jackson) Jackson had a brother Thomas, born 1802, who later became the land agent, so Thomas would have been the brother-in-law to William and believe he was a witness to the marriage.
Anything I have found involves Statham, other than this 1851 census, yet no baptism in Lymm can be found. FindMyPast has 46 entries for a William baptism (in Cheshire) between 1794 and 1798, CPRP database has fewer entries, Ancestry has 49, none of these in Lymm. Maybe he was never baptized? I have another couple in Lymm that claimed they were born there, research says they were born in Manchester area, so I am inclined to be skeptical.
Is there a good map of Cheshire where I can widen the circle from Lymm and possibly match closer parishes with the baptism entries?
Thanks again for your help.
