I'm sure it works with Elements as well, tomkin. I read it somewhere when i was doing a search.

I might try it later.  I recall applying a grey mask over one of the channels and then brushing out the little white star type marks. Then, lo and behold, the nasty pattern would be gone (or almost). I think it was George who told Pels and me about it originally (not Sioras - forgotten his RC name*)

Hello Gadget  :-* :-*

Thanks for this link and a wake up call  ;D

I've ran FFT over it and a bit of imagenomic noiseware.

There is a fair bit of jpegging on the original. "DEJPEG" might help  :-\

I have altered not levels/exposure, nor done any repairs.

FFT is available (for a small donation) from Charles at 4N6site.com

Best regards George

I had to pir borrow ::)  a copy of photoshop 7 in 32 bit as my CS6 running 64 bit would not have the 4N6 websites 8bf file.

Thanks ever so, George.  :D

I'll have a go at your transformed version tonight as I've just had a grocery delivery and they seem to have given me doubles!!!

Why don't you come back and do the odd restore.

I've worked on the FFT version that George supplied but getting rid of the newsprint pattern has brought out the very severe jpeg artifacts.  I've used lots of normal type restoration tools and also put it through some aps/filters that I don't really like using.

Here's a small version with a skylight filter to give more depth.

Also a slightly larger version - removed as I don't like it at all!
