You haven't answered the questions I asked in reply #1 and haven't really given any indication on this thread what you are searching for and what the problem is so it's difficult to help. The Irish Geneaogy site is fairly easy to use (gets much easier with a bit of practice) but there are different ways to search for events.
Mc names, as in many databases, can be troublesome. Here you need to search several ways. Example- surname McSweeney= McSweeney, Mc Sweeney [note space], McSw*n*y [gets variations such as McSwiney, etc.].
If you can't find the people you've looked for there are various possible reasons why you can't find them-
1) event too recent or too old (pre-registration)
2) event not registered
3) persons name not what you are expecting
4) you are searching very restricted date range & district
5) event took place in another area of Ireland or even outside Ireland

Hi  , sorry i carried on playing around with the site to see if i could just get it right , i did see registration dates from and i thought that i would be able to find Sydney L Carey 1878 Cork which like i said came back with no results , i tried using variants of carey but gave up , clearly irish gen is not for me even though i could do with understanding it , everything is easy when you know how  ;)

In case you hven't the census details [be sure to tick 'show all information']- in 1911 married 46 years, 8 children (all living)-
http://census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Cork/Skibbereen_Urban/North_Street/441569/
The census also tells you that the family were Church of Ireland which gives an indication of which church records you might check.

Richard's entry in Probate Book- there was a Will but for some reason not valid-

Kathleen's index card-
