Clipstone Road Attercliffe Sheffield
« on: Saturday 19 September 20 16:53 BST (UK) »
I have Robert IBBERSON  1826-1897 and his wife  Sarah nee HADLEY 1829-1897, living at 67 Clipstone Road Attercliffe in 1881 census, but I can't find them in the 1891 census. I have looked at all the possible houses in Clipstone Road as shown in Find My Past with no success. I know both Robert and Sarah died in 1897 at 67 Clipstone Road so assume that they were living there in 1891. Does anyone have any idea where I can find the records. Thanks

Just to point out that they are recorded as Ibbotson in 1881 - I was having problems.  Not got to 1891 yet.

No, no, no need to apologise, I was thinking I would have no success in 1891 if I cannot even find 1881.

In 1881 the numbers go 78, 76, 66, 64, 62, 81, 45, 43, 41 etc, but the enumerator's route  (on Ancestry, have not checked if included on F M P) I think implies that all of Clipstone Road is covered.  So lots of uninhabited properties or the enumerator did not get back to the missing people or....

Sorry, got to go, will try again later unless someone else finds them.

Thank you for your help. There don't seem to be many houses on Clipstone Road.

Not on that map, no.

The 1881 census had only 6 houses, with spaced numbers from 17 to 67?

But regardless of numbers, they should be showing somewhere in 1891.
