Lcpl George Cooke 500 Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders b.1891 discharged to pension 28 Mar 1919 whilst living Wishaw, Glasgow. I have the pension record ledger entry which also mentions 6747 Sco. Rifles but that’s all I can find, nothing prior to this date for certain or anything else regarding his time in the military. I’m assuming he spent some time abroad as malaria is mentioned? Any help appreciated thanks!

So far first went overseas to France Dec. 1914 with the 1st. Btn. A & SH.
No mention of the Scot. Rifles.
Added:
His number suggests an attestation date of 1910.
They were in France for about 12 months then posted to Salonika.
Have you found him in 1911 ?

There is 2 records for a George Cooke, age 19, on 1911 census, Maryhill Glasgow.
No other Cooke's mentioned. (1435/10 & 1440/10)
Can only find one birth on SP of a George Cooke, 1889, Campsie in the age range.

There is a Medal Card(1914-1920) for 6747 Scottish Rifles , but it's for a Peter Scott.
