Thanks, Heywood. I thought it might have been a clue to the surname of one of his grandmothers.
The usual spelling of it as a surname on 1901 census was TIERNAN.

Hello,

Here is a marriage - Michael Horan and Mary Dolan - 1876
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1871/11365/8172268.pdf

1901 census - Michael and Mary
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Leitrim/Belhavel/Tullynasharragh/1486035/

Clicking on Tullynasharragh at the top of the page of the household transcription shows another Horan household in the townland. Head was Anne, widowed, + 3 children, Thomas, James and Winifred. Birth registrations of children show parents Thomas & Anne and mother's maiden surname FEELY or FEEHILY.  Marriage Thomas Horan & Anne FEELY 1864. Groom's father was John. Perhaps Thomas and Michael were brothers? It doesn't say that John was deceased on either marriage registration.
Death of a John Horan registered in Manorhamilton 1871. Age recorded was 70. No image.
There was another Horan couple, Patrick & Catherine, births registered Manorhamilton 1864-70.

Michael was dead by 1911 and John was back home and farming. Widowed Mary was head of household. Was the younger Mary, aged 22, John's wife. Who were parents of 2 granddaughters of Mary senior?

Do you know if any of the family remained?
The other Horan household, headed by Anne, was still there too. Thomas, her son had got younger instead of older since 1901.  :)

Anne's family was there in 1930s. She died in 1939, officially aged 93.

John came to Edinburgh, married and had a son John my father in law. John went from Edinburgh to USA twice but returned to Edinburgh and died 1920.

Is this the same John who is married in 1911 and still in Leitrim?

Age 2 on census might have been overwritten as 1. Looks like whoever wrote 2 tried to correct it. She would have been nearly 2.
Mary was married 2 years. There was 1 child of the marriage and 1 living.
Who was Anne aged 11?

Hi There,
Thankyou all for your response. I would also like to apologise for the confused wording of text. I should have said  siblings were that of John c1874. Apologies to you all.
I am going to study these details in full in the next day or two.
I am trying to do this part of the tree for my children and grandchildren. My husband passed 20 years ago so I am trying to piece some of the bits together. I Know that Drew had an Aunt Cathy and Uncle Jimmy...all gone now and I think they were the children of Mary Dolan and her second marriage after John died. I can check this on Scotlands People site.
Kind regards and thankyou to you all.
