John Smillie Death

Hello, I am trying to find when one of my family members, John Smillie died.

John was born on 4 September 1860 to Christina Dickson 1837-1904 and William Smillie 1833-1869. His father died in a coal mining accident in 1869.

John married Annie Douglas (1863-1934) they were married in 1883.
They had 7 children, William Smillie 1887-?, Annie Smillie 1889-1968, Robert Smille 1891-1946, Christina Smillie 1893-1974, Joseph Smillie 1896-1964, Andrew Smillie 1897-1975 and Grace Smillie 1900-1903. Would be helpful if anyone could find a death for John.

To rule out the 1903 death - look for the family on the 1911 census.  Is Annie a widow?

Not sure, if I were to get her death certificate it would give me a clue on if John died before or after her.

John Smillie signed Annies death certificate she died in ayr hospital but usual residence was in Annbank

Must mean that John died after 1934.

HE DIED IN  dec 14th 1939 at Annbank Farm his residence was 66 goodwin dr Annbank what is strange there is no cause of death on certificate   his name was given as john Smellie and was signed by his son Robert Smillie

Hello, been a while since I was on here. I found a newspaper report on John, he died after being hit by a bus.
