« on: Wednesday 19 August 20 14:11 BST (UK) »
Hi
Can anyone decipher and translate the Latin phrase in the last burial entry - that for Ellin Holdcroft of Ball Green

Thanks
Sue

I'll have a go. Somebody else will do it properly later.
eujus (or cujus?) vita igna optimata  _ea_
Something like lived a good unknown life there. Does it mean she lived quietly and virtuously?
I may be completely wrong. The only word I'm confident about is "vita".
Went from here to a better life?
Just noticed baptism of William, son of Ralph & Ann Holdcroft on the line above. Was Ellin a relative?

cujus vita igne extincta erat = whose life was destroyed by fire (burnt to death)
