Marriage/Birth at St.Thomas Salisbury

Hi Roost chat
I have my husband's GGG Grand father marrying at St. Thomas, Salisbury 31/05/1796. Joshua Moody married (with consent of his father) Patty Penton. ( obtained from Hampshire Record Office)  One witness was Richard Penton.(maybe her brother).
Wondering if anyone has access to births records that would show who Joshua's parents were. I have one possibility from a birth at Kings Somborne, Hampshire for a Joshua Moody with parents Robert & Mary Moody, 15/10/ 1775. I have Joshua's death 1823 Walcot, Bath.
Appreciate any help/advice.

Joshua Burial 1823 has abode as Kingstone House.

There is also this Burial;
17 Dec 1826, Wesleyan Methodist Chapels, Bath, Somerset
RICHARD Penton age 82 ( 1744)

Hi mudgeemaid,

Have you got the correct  location for the marriage of Joshua Moody 31-5-1796 Salisbury St.Thomas?

My reason for asking is that I have looked at the marriage register for this church and no entry appears as you list. (The register is available to view on Anc...y if you have a sub.

Parish: Out of Wiltshire

Residence: Sailsbury St Thomas

Spouse: Patty PENTON

Notes: Married at Hound, Hants.

? there could be an engagement announcement in an old Newspaper...

As their first child: George Robert MOODY son of Joshua MOODY and Patty his wife of the Parish of St Edmund in the City of New Surum Wilts - 1797 - seems a good chance Joshua's father was a Robert. 

Joshua appears to be a Mechanical Surgeon - so assume went to train for this -

I don't subscribe to British Newspapers on line, and have only had a quick look...

Joshua appears to be a Mechanical Dentist (which could mean he made false teeth!) and ended up in Bath.

Heading:  No, 10, Queen-Street, Quern Square, Bath.  PRINCE, DENTIST ARTIFICIAL TEETH


......  on the second line, Mi- Robert MOODY Bath   ? might be his brother, and this Robert married in Bath, died in 1830 and his Will is on Ancestry, mentioning his wife and children.
