Baptism lookup please - Manchester
« on: Wednesday 24 August 05 15:59 BST (UK) »
Hi, I wonder if some kind person could lookup a baptism for me.  It is for a Lavinia McDonald, she was on the 1871 census, aged 10, birthplace Manchester.  Apart from that I can find no other information on her.  I was hoping to find her on the 1861 census, but not a sign of her or her father (Peter McDonald).  Peter originated from Ireland so whether he arrived in 1861, I don't know.

This was probably a Catholic baptism, if that makes any difference!

Any help would be most appreciated.

There are 3 ancestry trees with Lavinia giving date of birth 5 Jun 1860; they state her mother was Margaret Farrell or Carroll with a death on the 'Hague family tree'
Death of Mother Margaret Farrel or Carroll(1828–1866)
1 Nov 1866 • 11, Chapel Fold, Bradford, West Yorkshire, England

The fact that the actual date is given may mean the tree owner has the certificate.

Daniel as stated by hol is a half brother with this death

Hello
I dont think Daniel is a half brother to Lavinia,i think its just an interpretation of name by registrar as With the Death of Margaret who was McDonell on the death entry.
Theres a Margaret Carrell b1828 on the 1841 census in Manchester with a brother called Daniel, only one of two of the correct age.
