Oh my goodness this post is a blast from the past

I apologise for my late response, but I didn't see that I had any notifications that there was a reply to this post.
I do indeed have all certificates possible for the family. I have been unable to find a birth certificate for Jane, have purchased a few that were not for her over the years. Hoping eventually a baptism will appear online for her. Mothers maiden name was definitely Carroll. There was another daughter Mary Ann born in Manchester and a son John Francis.
In 2005, I was so naive to think that it was possible for a catholic baptism lookup in Manchester (not even an address to narrow down the area!) At the time, the birth reg wasn't on FreeBMD, eventually I had the common sense to manually go through the birth entries and found the missing entry.
This is still one of my brick walls, as both Lavinia and Jane just disappear! Their brother Daniel is mentioned in a newspaper article with regard the death of his son in WWI and it mentioned that the son had a silk handkerchief which his father had just brought back from a visit to Ireland. Was he visiting his sisters? Who knows.
Having Lavinia's date of birth, I was a little hopeful that when the 1939 register was published that it may help me find her, but sadly no. I am still hopeful that this brick wall will crumble one day, as I keep slowly chipping away at it.
Thank you so much for all your interest it is really appreciated.

I do think this is Peter and have wondered if Margaret and daughters were off visiting somewhere else or the family had temporarily separated. Who knows? John Francis is definitely a son of Peter and Margaret, I have all his certificates and his baptism is on line.
Kind regards, Kath
