Repeated look-up requests - annoying
« on: Thursday 23 June 05 17:32 BST (UK) »
Is it just me or are there others who feel like banging their head against a brick wall when they have spent hours looking up a post ,finding it and posting it only to find out it has already been done because the post had been duplicated.
I would ask please only post a request once, if its there it will be found, some requests just take a little longer than others to be answered.
Im not groughing, just asking nicely  8)

I think it would also be helpful (especially to the Moderators) if those who make duplicate messages mark the original subject heading "Posting Complete" so that looking-up time is not wasted.

Clincher,

Any help is always appreciated ;D

You can always post short cuts to the duplication.

This has already been discussed here!!

Rootschatters can also ensure that duplications aren't made by doing a search first.  Just click the "Search Rootschat" button at the top of the page.

Search Rootschat
That is one thing that has never been any help to me,it never finds me anything no matter what i type in ::) I do think that new members should use the Beginners board or How to use Rootschat FIRST rather than starting with the Common room then venturing out into the Rootschat  Jungle ;D .If you look at the back pages in the beginners Topic. You will see that most of the questions asked(how do i do send a mail)have been asked a 100 times.and answered on other boards. :)Unfortunately there are to many boards for a beginner(you were one once remember ;) )Thats the reason they end up in the common room.Because they don't realize there are special boards. So if the same question is asked again and again, the best thing to do would be(as done and suggested) to refere that question to the appropriate topic, that is if you can find it ;D
