Abergele farm

Long long shot, i am trying to locate the farm my mother was evacuated to from Liverpool after they were bombed out in the blitz of 1941, are there any records? Where there designated hosts? and if so one would have thought they would have to have been registered?  The only information i have is that the farmer had a hook for a hand     My mum and her brother stayed for over a year. TIA

It might be worth asking at Denbighshire Archives.  They will do a quick search free and more detailed searches can be done in person or by them for a fee, although of course the current pandemic is likely to have changed things.  Here is the link for enquiries:

Have you thought of Facebook,  there's an Abergele people and history group.
I had lots of help on the Rhyl history page when I was researching that area

agree, Facebook may be a good place to start.

Or when the libraries open Abergele Library could put you in touch with a local history group.  A letter in the local paper may help - Abergele library could advise re address of local paper.

Could you access old Abergele Primary School Admission Register - this would give the address you're searching for.

Of course there's a possibility that whilst the Liverpool train would have brought them to Abergele Station they could have ended up in one of the surrounding villages.

Best bet would be a letter in the paper and make reference to the farmer's disability.
