Does anyone know of any current Ancestry special offers?

My Ancestry subscription (using this offer) is due to expire next month and I'd like to cancel it but how?

If I go to my account settings there is no option to cancel. I can modify it but not cancel.

Any suggestions welcome.

Account Settings , scroll down to Membership Section. There is a link that says Cancel Membership.
As you are close to the end date of your sub, if you follow through it will tell you that your subscription will be active till  the renewal date so even if you cancel you can continue to use it.

When you are past the original renewal date your Membership section will say you are now a Registered Guest and at that stage you can use the link to renew at the offer price.

Has worked for me for many years now. If I had to pay the full price I would not have renewed each year so I am sure the company would rather have x years half fees than 1 year full price and then nothing while I used the library pcs/family history centre pcs /free weekends on the site/ maybe a month one off sub each year.

I contacted Ancestry who managed to sort things out.

There was no 'cancel membership' option because I had already cancelled it!  Before posting I had checked through my emails but there was no confirmation of the cancellation so assumed it still needed to be done.

Which is a reminder for everyone to cancel a few weeks in advance and if you don't get a confirmation email, to contact them and insist that the cancellation is confirmed by email.

Additionally to the advice received do be aware that Ancestry’s cancellation process is somewhat convoluted and once you get to the end you should then receive a confirmation email.

The last page should have the text “Cancellation Confirmation” and a long number.

Take a screenshot of the page.

If no confirmation email is received go through the process again.

A lot of Cambridgeshire and Huntingdonshire records are now on Ancestry so anyone with ancestors from there may be interested in looking for any current special offers.
