Definitely, others have had problems when they haven't cancelled and they end up auto-renewal at full price - not nice, nasty shock

Great another success at getting membership at a reasonable cost.

It set me in panic mode, my old grey cells could not be sure if our account is still showing auto renewal.

It is showing …… Expiring 14 July

So that is OK, this is what the renewal cost options are showing.

We usually get the Worldwide for £89.99

I have never known anyone get an auto renewal for £89-99 Worldwide.

Think you need to make sure it doesn't auto renew and you pay full price.

Easy to cancel membership so that it doesn't auto-renew, it will still run until your expiry date.

Notice on the image that there is nothing showing for the renewal cost of Annual Worldwide

I let the subscription EXPIRE, then initiate renewal a couple of days later via a link or via a telephone call.

Yes, your trees are still available to you.  If you cancel your auto renewal , your subscription still runs until the 5 th July.

Just about to use the connections to renew membership at the reduced rate.  BUT did you notice that subsequent renewals will be at the full price?  I am assuming that you will now have to cancel renewals and start again in 2025/6
