William Jones Bryncir/Dolbenmaen

Hi everyone, first time posting here. My great grandfather (William Jones)  was killed in an accident in 1969. The he was walking through Bryncir and from the pub when he was struck by a car, a the caf drove off. He died I f his injuries a few days later.

I'm wondering if anyone knew him or remembers it happening so I can gain more information. I have to they lived in thr house on the corner as you turn out of Dolbenmaen. The house was called Ty R'efail and was married to Mary Lizzie Pierce.

He married in 1917.  How old was he when he died? Do you know his actual date of death?

Was he William Ellis Jones b 1898?

The info i know is that he was born in 1809 and died on the 13th February 1969 at the age of 79.  I have the death announcemnet from the paper so know that all to be true.  They had 7 sons Ernie, Robin, William (Gwilym), Elfed, Evan (my grandfather) Hugh, Tudor and Elfed.  I know William and his late wife are burried in Dolbenmaen.  Iwas meant to go up to North Wales to visit my mum and I normally stop in Dolbenmaen twice a year but havent been up due to coronavirus :-(

Are you looking for info re, the accident, or his ancestry ?
I assume that there was an inquest. The inquest records are eventually transferred to Gwynedd Archives, but are not public for 100yrs (was 70 yrs.) Close relatives can gain access by permission of the Coroner. Gwynedd Archives have copies of the local papers for that date, but are closed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

On the main gravestone at Dolbenmaen Church:
Mary Elizabeth Jones, Efail Glandwyfach  d. 28/12/1957  aged 65;
William Jones,  d. 13/02/1969 ,  aged 79.
On smaller stone laid flat:
Also their sons:
Huw Thomas Jones  d. 08/12/1999,  aged  74;
Tudor Jones  d. 13/12/2006,  aged  78.

The couple living at Efail Glandwyfach at time of 1901 Census, Henry Jones and wife, were appointed Master and Matron of Pwllheli Workhouse in October 1901.
Time of 1911 Census, William, his parents and siblings were living there. It's possible that they moved in, late 1901. I don't know what the present situation is re. posting info from 1911 Census - it's from ANCESTRY, not FIND MY PAST.  Perhaps PINOT can advise.
Pre 1911 the family were living in Garn Dolbenmaen, which prior to 1891 Census, comes under parish of Penmorfa, it being a detached part of that parish. From 1891 Census it comes under Dolbenmaen Civil Parish, but still in the Ecclesiastical Parish of Penmorfa. So you've got people who according to one Census have been born in Penmorfa, and according to another Census born in Dolbenmaen !
In 1871 Census they're living at Caerffynnon; can't make out the name of their residence in 1881, but know which area by reference to the adjoining residences; in 1891 & 1901 at Tan y Bryn. All these places in or very close to the village of Garndolbenmaen, but not where you describe. William/Mary Elizabeth 's address in 1957 is Efail Glandwyfach according to gravestone.
