Seeking Marriage between George Semly (sic) and Ann tummins (sic)
« on: Sunday 31 May 20 22:50 BST (UK) »
Hello:

Trying to push through a wall in regards to the marriage between a George Semly (sic) and Ann tummins (sic). Both family names have had many different spellings: Semley and Tummons, Tummings. Their children are all baptised in Royston beginning with:

William Semley B: 1817
Mary Semley B: 1826
Edward Semley
John Semley B: 1822
Thomas Semley B: 1824
Benjamin Semley B: 1829
Charles Semley B: 1835
Ann Semley B: 1834
Henry Semley B: 1830

It appears they are in Cudworth in the 1851 census.

any help is very much appreciated

Cheers

Not sure if you've seen this:

UK Royal Hospital Chelsea Pensioner Admissions and Dischages 1715-1925 - on Fold3 (I don't have full access to this site)

Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids.  They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Thinking about the Chelsea Pensioner record, plus there is a very well documented tree on Ancestry, I am wondering whether the marriage was a military marriage?  It appears that there is a George Semely listed as a Driver in the medal roll for the Battle of Waterloo - 1815.
