I don't think so, the age is about right but on all the other census info I have he was born in Whitehaven.  Also no mention of him being blind.

Did you say you found him in the 51 census, what info did it give for that one?

Thanks anyway.

Hello again, Andrew.

Phew, you have been busy with the digital camera...you put many of us to shame. I have had a look at the various pics but unfortunately do not see any obvious link to my Cape line at the moment. Your efforts, though, are very much appreciated and will perhaps help others researching the name. I will also keep details 'just in case' they do one day tie-in (especially as they are from an area fairly close to that where 'my' Capes seem to have lived).

I know you do not manage there as often, but if you ever come across anything else at the records office on the Cape name in Cockermouth c 1800 - 1840ish (as before, probably associated to All Saints), I would welcome same. Still  struggling to tie down parents for John Cape who married (I assume) a Dinah (unknown surname) possibly c1837 or anything on a Wilford Cape who married an Elizabeth Swinburn in c1818 (hopeful that they were John's parents).

Meantime, thanks again, Andrew - you are a gem  :).

I think the wife of James Doyle is called Ann Middleton.  I can't find the details on free BMD.

I have put a request on the main site.

Thanks

BELL William (1828-1833)
BELL Ann (1830-)
BELL Joseph (1832-) need burial - before 1841?
BELL James (1834-)
BELL John (1835-1836)
BELL John (1837-1875)
BELL William (1839-) need burial - before 1851
BELL Jane (1841-)need both, died before 1851?

Phew, I didn't take your list in with me so I have literally gone right through the Holy Trinity burials microfilms and found quite a few I've not compared them with your list yet, however,  Joseph and Henry Bell Baptisms:

Joseph Bapt Jan 11 1846 (JAC371 PR84/4)

Henry Bapt 27 Aug 1848 (JAC372 PR84/5) of John and Jane, Market Place, a nailor
