A remark on "The Westminster Hour" that a certain political leader (no, not that one), should take care that he doesn't create the impression that he's boring, reminded me of the wisdom of Nora Batty. ("Last of the Summer Wine")
"Nowt wrong wi' boring. There's a lot to be said for being boring. It's taken me near on forty years to train my Wally to be boring."
Nora perfected her social distancing technique, especially from Compo, her downstairs neighbour, keeping him the length of a broom-handle away by deploying bristles of the broom in his direction. She would have been happy to remain 2 yards apart from him (NB no foreign metrics), preferably the width of 2 backyards away.
Pearl, another formidable character would have embraced lockdown with enthusiasm, as an ideal method of keeping tabs on errant husband, Howard.
