Relevant to the time of year we are now in is this rather interesting series of cases at the Petty Sessions relating to over-doing celebrations around Christmas & New Year (drunkenness, illegal sale of alcohol in pub after hours and generally fighting)! There is a Rees Jones mentioned who could well be the Rees above. Also on the page under Llanbadarn Fawr is a paragraph about Indecent language - it gives and idea of how rural communities in this part still kept up traditional ways of dealing with things they saw as being immoral etc, by parading the miscreants round the village on the "ceffyl pren" (hobby horse) as a punishment.
