« on: Monday 04 May 20 18:38 BST (UK) »
Hi all,

I am trying to find out More about Frances (Fanny) Tasket Born around 1835 in Weston under Wetherely. , Warwickshire.  She married William Langley in leamington on 31st Jan 1864 and they had at least 3 children, but she had a child (Edward Tasker b.1857) before the marriage.
Edward's marriage certificate names a John Tasker as his father.

a) Could Fanny have been unmarried and John tasker was Actually Fanny's father no maiden name is given on the marriage Bann.

b) If John Tasker was her first husband, then what was her maiden name and who were her parents?

As you see I have hit a wall - any help really appreciated,
Martin.

What is the 1861 census entry in full?

(Ancestry is free at the moment,  so no excuses)

Is she the one with three kids in 1871?
Check the births for mothers maiden name.

Is he the Edward Tasker b Weston who appears as a grandson of John Tasker - wife Ann - in 1861 & 1871? If so he may have used the name of his grandfather (who, with Ann, perhaps brought him up) on his marriage.

Have you looked at the other Tasker grandchild in the household, Hannah c1860 Warwick, in case she was a sister of Edward?

Elizabeth Tasker baptised (privately) at St Nicholas, Warwick on 7 March 1860.

Daughter of Fanny Tasker, of the Unionhouse.

Birth registered as Elizabeth Tasker, Mar qtr 1860 Warwick 6d 513.

This may or may not be the same child who appears as granddaughter “Hannah” in John & Ann Tasker’s household in 1861 (aged 1) & 1871 (aged 11). I can’t see a separate birth or baptism in the name Hannah.

Thanks all for your replies, I really appreciate your time to look at this, and sorry if I missed ways to find this out myself. I think the research I did had her as illegitimate, but I was thrown by Edward's marriage so thanks again for clearing it up.

Martin.
