Could N B M be North British Militia  :-\   https://www.forces-war-records.co.uk/collections/142/scottish-militia

I think it would have to be militia because it says "Major's Company" and you would not get that in the regualr army.

This site indicates the Ayr & Renfrewshire Militia was known as the 7th Regt of North British Militia
