The Jeremiah Ryan mentioned in the 12 May 1834 record was married to Elize Anderson. He did, indeed, come from Sergeant's Lot fronting on Cashel Road where my 2X great grandfather, Daniel Ryan lived with his wife, Mary Lahey, and children. Both of these Ryans (along with a Charles Ryan) are found in Griffith's and the Tithe Applotment Books.
The Jeremiah that I am interested in appears in a baptism registration dated 4 February as follows: "John of Jeremiah Ryan & Alicia Dwyer, Sprs / James Coffy & Alicia Keating, Abbey."
The Jeremiah from Knocballynoe East certainly sounds promising: the townland is about 6.5 km. west of Golden and there are not only Dwyers but a Keating as well, albeit an immediate lessor. Today, there is a St. Patrick's Church, Kilfeacle in the vicinity that is part of the modern day parish of Golden & Kilfeacle.
