I was researching my Wesleyan Missionary ancestor and I had quite a lot of useful information from the School of Oriental and African Studies Library in London.
Or try the Baptist Missionary Society -
https://www.bmsworldmission.org/
- they may have knowledge of the whereabouts of burial records etc.
Transcriptions and NBI are merely finding aids. They are NOT a substitute for original record entries.

Death Register from St. John the Baptist Mission Church of the Province of South Africa, (Anglican), Bolotwa, Cape Province (now Eastern Cape).
This is the record I think. But where is it held?

No problem. Trying to locate where the register is held is not easy. Hoping someone with local knowledge of Bolotwa and surrounding area knows where they are held.

Hi
I haven't managed to track down a burial site as yet, it is possible that he was buried on the Mission Station.
Rhodes University in Cape Town are the custodians of the Archives for the Methodist Church they can be contacted here:
https://www.ru.ac.za/corylibrary/contactus/
This link explains the collections that they have
https://www.ru.ac.za/corylibrary/collections/methodistchurcharchives/
Hope this helps
