Harkness in Annan

Looking for a Harkness family living in Annan, Dumfriesshire circa 1740-70. Can anyone help?

Have you exhausted the resources at www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk?

If you have searched there and come to a stop, can you tell us what you already know about the people you are interested in?
Never trust anything you find online (especially submitted trees and transcriptions on Ancestry, MyHeritage, FindMyPast and other commercial web sites) unless it's an image of an original document - and even then be wary because errors can and do occur.

Hello
I'm looking for Thomas Harkness (1759-1832) a direct antecedent, whose spouse was Hannah McKie (1762-1827). The dates come from an MI in the Churchyard of Hutton & Corrie but they lived most of their lives at Lauriesclose near Kirtleton, Middlebie. Thomas died at "Persbyhall" which I have not been able to find but a published Family Tree elsewhere suggests he died in Annan (No source quoted) . Nothing found on the ScotlandsPeople database but (it has been whispered) not every man was an adherent of the Church of Scotland in those times, and OP records are often ragged.
Any suggestions warmly received..

Concerning Thomas and Hannah Harkness, The OPR records Edward, baptised 30 March 1793; William baptised 3rd Feb 1796 and the MI records Betty's death as 20 April 1864, age 83.

They seem to have had four of a family, all baptised in Middlebie
Edward, 30 March 1793
William, 4 May 1796
Margaret, 20 January 1802
James, 8 January 1805

Did any of their family live in Hutton and Corrie?

I have Francis Harkness 1811-1891  married to Isabella Adamson living in Lauries Close 1861

His parents were John Harkness and Janet Clarke and he was born in Gretna
Forrest - Blantyre
McLellan - Dumfriesshire
McCracken - Dumfriesshire
Harkness - Dumfriesshire
Adamson - Dumfriesshire
Hutchison - Dumfriesshire

I have OPR's for Betty, bpt August 5 1820 at Hawick and her MI suggests born 1761. The OPR only records daughter of Thomas Harkness. Edward, bpt 30 March 1793 at Middlebie, residence Lauriesclose; John, on the MI born 1782, died at Stidriggburn; William, bpt 3rd Feb 1796, Middlebie. The OPR's for Edward and William show them to be sons of both Thomas and Hannah.

I have a marriage for Edward, 30 October 1829 at Graitney, to Margaret Byers. John married to Mary Little according to their MI.
