Merrick Family

Just wondering where to start with this branch of the family.

David Merrick was born 1829 I am assuming in Scotland because his Father and Mother were both born there.

However David married in Sligo, Ireland and died in Australia, while his Father and Mother both died in Ireland.

David's wife was born in Ireland and died in Australia.

Should I start in Ireland and work my way back or start in Scotland and work my way forward?

Where and when did David MERRICK die?

Who did he marry, and when.....did you have the marriage certificate?

Did he have children in Australia.....can you name them, and when / where they were born.

David Merrick married Sarah Ann Nelson in Sligo, Ireland in 1858. No Marriage certificate.

He died 22/4/1889 in Sydney NSW somewhere. He was buried at Waverly Cemetery NSW.

His daughter is Jane Susan Merrick born 6/8/1870 Sydney NSW and she died 14/1/1942 in New Zealand. She is buried at Sydenham Cemetery Christchurch.

I have David born 1829 going off how old he was when he died but my mother has 1834.
