The attached photo has ’aboard the “Jean” off Wick’ and dated May 1945.
The people are labelled (right to left!) as Cliff Norton, Self, Tom McLaughlan, John Lightfoot, Joe Beck. “Self” is David Welsh from near Kelso - he was a wireless operator during WW2 and post-war kept his radio interest as radio amateur GM3BFU.
The five look very happy - perhaps this is not long after VE Day?
Any information about the “Jean” would be welcome.
