Alison Thomson
« on: Monday 20 April 20 14:26 BST (UK) »
My great aunt Alison Thomson(18) travelled on the Diogenes from London to Sydney Australia in September 1925. She travelled with a Michael Shannon(58). I can find no trace of her after leaving London. I wonder if anyone has come across her in their family trees

Could you please provide the names of Alison’s parents and maiden name of her mother. Did Alison have a middle name?

My great aunt Alison Thomson(18)

She is Alice Thomson on the passenger list and no apparent link between her and Michael Shannon - they have separate passenger numbers

Her last address is shown as Rosscandle Cottage California Falkirk?  She is shown as a domestic

Shannons address was Main St Polmant?

Hi Isabel,

Can you please confirm if you are seeking info about Alison THOMSON, or about ALICE THOMSON or about Michael SHANNON...  :D

There is a marriage registered in the Newtown district (of Sydney) New South Wales in 1933 for an Alice Thomson.  NSW BDM registrations are usually full of family history info including for marriages:

For both the bride and the groom: full names (often including former, previous alternative etc), occupation, usual place of residence, conjugal status (bachelor/spinster, divorcee, widow/er), where and when she/he was born, sometimes even the exact date of birth, the father's name, sometimes occupation, and mother's maiden name (and if any parent is known to be deceased).

https://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/Pages/family-history-research/registry-records.aspx

NSW BDM has Official Transcription Agents, and they offer an excellent alternative to the 'real deal' certificates.    I cannot tell from the online index IF this lass would be connected to your enquiry.

You don't give any info as to where she was born.

Have you checked out the 1931 marriage in Polmont (Falkirk) of Alice Watson Thomson to Alexander Boyd which is on SP.  There is a marriage in 1886 Polmont which may be her parents but that seems a long time if she was only born 1907
