DEW/DEWE/DUE/ family

I am trying to trace the ancestry of Thomas Dewe died 1819 in Drayton, Berks. The family records suggest that he was born in 1738. There is a baptism of that date of Thomas Due to William Due and his wife Ann in Charney Bassett.
Thomas' will indentifies a Robert Wicks, of Drayton, as his uncle.
Robert Wicks will amongst others refers to his 'sister Ann Dewe of Charney'.

These seem reasonable pointers to the fact that Thomas' parents were William Dewe and Ann Wicks but after that I am stuck completely. I can get information on the Wicks family going back but nothing whatsover about William Dewe's parents or even of his marriage to Ann Wicks.

Has anyone got access to records which might help or can point me in the right direction. Many thanks.

Searching the National Archives there are two Wills of Robert Wicks,

30 May 1739

Robert WICKS, Yeoman of Drayton, Berkshire  (this one talks, about his wife Ann) sons-in-law, John DEWE and William DEWE, land in Herts etc. etc.

his daughter, Maria wife of John DEWE and Ann wife of William DEWE

sons, Edward, Robert and Son
etc.etc

and

2 March 1771

Robert WICKS, Gentleman of Drayton, Berkshire

Looking at the Charney Bassett records (on CD ex OxfordFHS)  I see a Thomas Due bapt. 19-11-1738 s/o William
also;
4-8-1734   William Dewe s/o William
18-1-1732  Mary       "     d/o     "

No mother's name mentioned in either entry.
So where does the entry of Ann (his wife) come from?

It would seem that early registers are lost/missing as entries have been taken from the BTs;
Ch.    1641 - 1786]
Bur.   1759 - 1785] earlier register lost

additionally  copies of the BTs are missing for the years;
1608 - 1616   1623
1625 - 1627   1629 - 1633
1638 - 1667   1670 - 1673
1688 - 1689   1732 - 1750

You may have found more evidence than I can see, but thought I would post the above.
