Are there records of patients or staff from the Woolton convalescent hospital circa 1900s please ? Or possibly information available from it’s use during WW1 ?

According to the National Archives website there should be some information available at Merseyside Record Office - but I'm not sure what. Seemingly it seems to have been known as Liverpool Convalescent Home, Woolton. (Unless this is a different establishment).

It may be worth looking in the Merseyside Record Office Catalogue.

Looks like it should be Liverpool Archives as opposed to Merseyside Record Office - which is odd. So try searching Liverpool Archives catalogue.

Normally you would be able to contact the Archives by phone or email - but they are likely to be closed for the duration of the present 'lock down'.

Someone else may pick up on your query and help more than I can.

I have given you a link to Woolton records at Liverpool Archives -- if you have checked that out, that doesn't mean it's all they have. There may be other records not yet catalogued.

The Merseyside records are indeed held at the Liverpool Record Office, Central Library.  Closed at present, of course.

What Road / Avenue was it in ?  I live local and would be interested to see if the building is still there. I have a feeling this became a home for naughty boys and girls - I remember one in the 1960's . :)

I believe that Woolton Convalescent hospital was off Allerton Road ...it had several uses and names over the years.Quite a bit of information about it on the internet.
