Daughter's occupation?
« on: Saturday 04 April 20 13:53 BST (UK) »
Hi, not managed to get on Rootschat for some time now, but as I've been quarantined to home for 12 weeks thought I would resume my favourite hobby.
I have eventually found 2 members of my missing family in the 1841 census, both working at Lancaster Castle. Mum Cecelia is recorded as Matron (which ties in with other evidence I have) Daughter Charlotte is also there, but I cannot make out her occupation.
Help please  :)
Keep safe everyone

Thanks so much for your help LisaJB, Sugarbakers. Emeltom and Jen B
Once you say Waitress I can see it. I'm not sure who she was waitressing on - presumably it would be the staff  :)

I think Assistant Matron like JenB

The second letter in the first word is the long 'S' shape used at that time and the second word looks very similar to Matron in the mother's line.
